Every client is unique and deserves a personalized treatment plan. Dr. Abrams works with each client to develop a plan that suits their individual needs, goals, and preferences. Evidence-based practices and regular reviews ensure that clients are getting the most effective treatment possible.
Compassionate and effective treatments are provided. These range from supportive therapy to diagnosis-specific, evidence-based, cognitive and behavioral interventions. Dr. Abrams meets you where YOU are, whether you are experiencing situational stress, a devastating loss, or a psychological condition such as Major Depressive Disorder or PTSD
Seeking therapy can be a difficult and vulnerable experience. Here you will find a safe and non-judgmental space to share your thoughts and feelings. Dr. Abrams provides a supportive ear and expert knowledge as you navigate complex life changes, heal long term suffering, or simply deepen your self awareness and mindfulness practices.
I look forward to giving you the same compassionate care that I have provided clients for over 20 years. Despite your struggles, you have many strengths which, once identified and supported, will assist you in improving your life. I currently provide telehealth only services allowing me to serve clients across the US.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that focuses on changing patterns of thinking and behavior that no longer serve you. Dr. Abrams offers several forms of CBT, including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Other forms of psychotherapy are also available depending on your unique needs. If you have experienced a traumatic event, Dr. Abrams has extensive training in the use of trauma-specific interventions such as Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, and Trauma-focused CBT.
Psychologists hold a doctoral degree in psychology and provide therapy and counseling services. Psychiatrists hold a medical degree and are trained to diagnose and treat mental health disorders with medications, in addition to sometimes providing therapy. Dr. Abrams is a psychologist with a doctoral degree (PhD) in Clinical-Community Psychology. Dr. Abrams prides herself on working closely with other members of your treatment team, with your consent, and has close working relationships with several local psychiatrists, should you require a referral.
I understand that life can get in the way of scheduled appointments. I ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment so that the appointment can be offered to others who may be in urgent need. A cancellation fee is charged for appointments broken without 24 hours notice.
